Grass spider

The grass spiders are members of the genus Agelenopsis. They weave sheet webs that have a funnel shelter on one edge. The web is not sticky, but these spiders make up for that shortcoming by running very rapidly. They may be recognized by the arrangement of their eight eyes into three rows. Thanks! **NEWS** The spider died on July 19, 2009. Poor thing, it either: suffocated, dehydrated, had food poisoning, or a baby black widow's bite is potent enough to take down this biggie. If you noticed in the video, the baby black widow was crawling on the spider.
